There are a lot of people out there who are considering starting a business – whether from home, or a conventional business – and trying to decide how to best market it. There are also many people who currently own a business – whether successful, or simply breaking even. Some of this business owners do mostly offline marketing (word of mouth, newspaper ads, flyers) and are considering adding online marketing to their campaign, and some have never considered online marketing, nor do they know much about it.

Which ever group you may fall into, it doesn’t really matter. At this point in time, I’m not going to say marketing online is a must, but if you’re not doing, it you’re giving up a lot of business – especially if you sell a product or service that can be used anywhere in the world.

If you’re selling vitamins, jewelry, health and nutrition products, online education, book, e-books, etc. – why would you not want people in Europe and elsewhere to buy from you? Why would you want to restrict yourself to your town or state? It doesn’t make much sense.

By putting your business online, the whole world becomes your market place. It’s quite a cool feeling to see money deposited into your account from a customer in Indonesia. Furthermore, if you’re marketing a product or service that you truly believe in, that you truly feel can improve people’s standard of living and society – then isn’t it your duty to get in front of as many people as possible?

Hopefully, you’re in business doing something you’re passionate about. If you’re just out to make a buck, well that won’t last long. There really does have to be a greater purpose behind what you’re doing. The internet allows us to connect with people anywhere in the world. Using Voice Over IP (Internet Based Phone Service) allows us to speak to anyone in the world for pennies on the dollar. We truly live in an historic period of time.

If you’re marketing communications services (VoIP, cell phones, internet service, etc.) you may not be able to market to the world, but at the least you can market to the entire nation if not also Canada. Either way, there is no reason to limit yourself to your immediate location.

At this point, I hope I’ve made you aware of the most obvious benefits of marketing online. There are many ways to do this – be it Pay Per Click, Ezines (online articles), backlinks, or solo ads – so educate yourself on the benefits, costs, and experience necessary to apply each of those successfully before you jump into it. If you do so, I promise you’ll be ecstatic with what it will do for your business to get online.

If you need more information or advice on any of the above, don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ll either help you out, or direct you to someone who can.

To Your Success

Broadcasting a newsletter via an ezine is as actually brilliant, and dependent on who you use free or low cost, method of promoting a site. draw loyal and not so loyal customers to return to your site or even your outlet. You possibly will use a newsletter to tell readers about new stock, clearance items, special offers and the likes. And if you want to know more about affordable website design, basically follow the link!

There are pointers when sending a newsletter to ensure that you stay within acceptable guidelines and don’t fall foul of anti spamming regulations. A newsletter might only be sent to customers who have given their permission to receive it and they should be able to opt out if they want.

This also means checking that visitors in truth have opted into the e-zine, else you possibly will fall foul to pranksters signing up their friends. The usual trick for control here is ‘double opt-in’. With this technique, the person signs up on your site for the ezine by typing in their email address. You then send them an email with a link and only once they have clicked on this link are they included in the list.

Likewise, it is standard experience that all emails would end with an opt-out link so that people no longer wishing to receive e-zines can speedily and easily opt out.

Sending newsletters can also be a tricky subject. a lot of people like to send out the email from their own PC - but there are few alternatives here and all may perhaps uncover you into difficulties. The in the beginning is to email all of the recipients straight with one email. But this shows every email address to all recipients and doesn’t peek professional.

Not showing the list by entering them all in the BCc field does improve the situation, but several people will not read emails where the to account is ‘undisclosed recipients’ and likewise, some email services and spam blockers are more inclined to remove such emails. It is incredibly unusual to receive an email where the BCc field is used for its intended purpose - it is frequently an indication of spam.

The next step is to individually email every recipient, but on a anything but diminutive list this might take a long time. Also, by sending so numerous identical emails, whether sent on their own or by either of the two above methods, either your own ISP or the mail services processing the emails possibly will notice the sizeable amount of traffic and accuse you of spam. At best your newsletter is not received, at worst your email account is closed down.

So what’s the answer? Well there are a load mailing list providers out there giving a diversity services. Depending on the features that you require, you might be able to use a free service for lists with even a terrific number of readers. These services deal with sending the emails, opt-ins, opt-outs and everything else and even enable you to use HTML based emails for extra special looks.

But what is the idea behind an e-zine? Well, the people signing up have viewed your web site or business and are wanting to know more about you. They are showing an interest in your services. You don’t need to send them often, in fact weekly newsletters should be far too much and scare readers off. just email them a newsletter every month or two. maybe each time you have a big number of new ranges or want to tell people about the latest special offers. Unless you have a worthy mailing list then the chances are you will be able to obtain and use a free mailing list provider, so all that a newsletter is costing you is your time to create the newsletter and send it out.

If sending it is absolutely and it gives further purchases or traffic, what might be a better form of marketing? And if you are searching for more tips to affordable website promotion, then don’t forget to check out the blog for more tips!

With the economic slowdown a reality now, businesses are examining their alternatives for getting more customers and more sales. The internet is one very big and obvious opportunity. But how does an offline business actually use the power of the worldwide web to enhance their bottom line?

Business owners want their names and websites to show on the first or second page of search engine results and that’s where SEO comes in.

SEO is short for Search Engine Optimization, and has become all the rage these days… for good cause.

Extra hits on a web site means more traffic. More traffic means increasing the chances of getting more sales. If a site appears on the first page of any popular search engine, and the introduction sounds promising, people will click through to the site.

Many companies want to maintain their position on search engines and are thus continually looking for SEO services to maintain the ranking. They feel that they can beat the recession by attracting more visitors to their web sites.

TWO TYPES OF SEO

Search engine optimizers basically use two approaches in optimizing web sites for customers. One method is called the ‘white hat’ approach and the other is called the ‘black hat’ approach. The white hat approach is the recommended approach. The white hat approach to SEO is legal and recognized by search engines.

Black hat tries to load web sites with irrelevant or hidden keywords to fool the search engine. Web sites using the black hat approach look for short term gains, and once discovered, the search engines ban these sites. That makes blackhat a dangerous game to play for any serious minded business man or woman.

SEO has helped businesses that have relevant products but somehow were not able to attract customers. By applying appropriate SEO techniques and creating relevant inbound links, the traffic to these sites has been significantly increased.

If a company is entirely dependent for its business on the internet, then using SEO techniques is a must. However, if the web web site only generates a small portion of the business, then it’s not so critical — even though it can increase the traffic coming to your website.

SEO TECHNIQUES AND STRATEGIES

There are numerous different methods available to propel a website up in the search engines. Regrettably many SEO professionals are charging an arm and a leg when you hire them to raise your site’s rankings in the search engines.

Google Front Page

Two of the “simple secrets” to ranking higher on Google are… having unique, quality content along with high quality incoming links.

1. QUALITY CONTENT AT YOUR web site

Nothing is more inviting to search engines than new, unique content published on your website. If you have a website which provides a unique product or service and publishes unique content consistently on its blog, you can be sure that the search engines will look at you positively.

It is here that most affiliate websites face a very steep climb. Because their product and information is copied from a different source, it is difficult (but not impossible) to rank higher. Affiliate websites normally gain rankings by having to spend a sizeable amount on link building.

Unique content is very easy to publish if you tap into a new, profitable niche or if you successfully differentiate your business from your competitors. Because exclusive content is favored by the search engines, you can find articles, blog posts and free opinion ranking much higher than a typical site homepage which provides the usual information.

If you manage to publish superior quality content, you have won half the SEO battle.

Google Page One

2. INBOUND LINKS

The second matter to attend to is link building. There is no question that links from high pagerank (PR) websites and pages are favored much more than links from low PR websites. Your focus should be to get links from recognized websites. One system to get these backlinks is through having a link exchange but that is time consuming. Another way is to pay for them but Google frowns on this - they prefer “natural” link building that happens over time as other webmasters see your site and like it so they link to it.

High quality links go a long way in winning the SEO battle. Websites with as few as 200 links can rank higher in the SERPs (search engine results pages) than websites with thousands of links simply because they have a small number of their links coming from extremely trust-worthy sources.

It is a good idea to start getting high quality links as soon as your website is up. In order to further maintain your rankings, starting a blog on your web site and posting to it habitually is sure to help.

One final tip. By employing the services of an SEO expert, you can dramatically speed up the process of gaining the required backlinks. If you want to get on Google page one, it’s definitely something to think about.
