We know logo designs are important. Logos are the symbols of your businesses and you display them more often–and in more places–than anything else associated with your efforts does.

Logos are critical to everyone, but in order to have a logo design that really works magically, you must understand what makes a logo successful. Let’s look at three traits shared by all successful logo designs.

The Logo Design Must Send the Right Message

A beautiful design isn’t helpful if it doesn’t communicate the right story to prospective buyers.

A rose-themed logo might be perfect for a florist, but it wouldn’t communicate the appropriate message for a men’s fitness center!

Logos are symbols–just as words are–and it is important that they “write” the correct story. This requires skill and a real sense of how people perceive shapes and colors.

The Logo Design Must Work Everywhere

Logos appear on letterhead, websites, advertisements, business cards, clothing, giveaway and promotional items, and in countless other spots.

Sometimes, the logo design will be large and the center of attention. In other cases, it will be a smaller accent.

Logo designs may be in vibrant colors in some settings, but black and white when faxed or photocopied. This makes it important to have a logo design that communicates effectively at any size and doesn’t rely on color alone to work.

The Logo Design Must Grab Attention

That doesn’t mean logo designs have to be outlandish or wild. They do, however, need to be carefully crafted in a way that will convince people to look a moment longer than usual, or to take a second glance.

People develop first impressions quickly and scan millions of items every day without giving them a second thought. A great logo design inspires that second thought and helps put a business into the memory of the person who sees it.

We design logos that are instantly recognized symbols! That means people take a good look at them!

Knowing what makes a logo successful is only the beginning. Knowledge is power, but that power is limited if you cannot put it to good use.

One of the best ways to make sure your logo design is a marketing masterpiece is by utilizing a logo design service that specializes in creating memorable logos.

That’s where we enter the picture. We not only understand the traits of a great logo, we know how to put them into action, too.

The perfect logo design isn’t just a matter of connecting dots. It’s an art form.

Talk to us about your logo design needs. We can combine the talent for effective expression and an understanding of what makes great logos “click.” We can design the perfect symbol for your business.

If you’ve followed the news at all recently you’ve seen the massive stimulus initiatives designed to spark the economy and generate jobs. In some industries, companies may go from begging for work to watching opportunities go by without having the capacity to take advantage of them. And don’t you just hate the thought of that?

It doesn’t have to be that way and you can avoid that mistake by being proactive. By that I mean don’t wait till the job announcements are in your face to seek the necessary financing. However, by that I don’t mean rushing forward without a plan.

If you’ve always been undercapitalized or the prospect of watching opportunities go by sounds familiar to you it may be because you have never had a viable plan of how to go about it. As an entrepreneur you probably subscribe to the theory of doing it all yourself.
That’s very admirable and the fact that you are up to your chin in duties and tasks may also help explain why you’ve not laid out a viable financing plan thus far.

Fitting the profile above could make you a good candidate for business financing coaching. I’m talking about having an expert assess your situation and advise accordingly. The reason I warned against rushing out at the last minute is the resulting harm it can cause you. Listen, declined applications will haunt your business and undermine all you’ve done to enhance your reputation with regard to work quality.

An experienced business finance coach will organize your approach, while you tend to regular chores associated with your business. You will be aided in making key decisions such as whether to seek debt or equity financing, whether to incorporate, etc.

If you are busy right now and I sincerely hope you are, you don’t have time to determine which venture firms are the best match for you in your current situation. You may not be aware of the key business credit agencies to approach. Are you up on the current lender requirements and criteria? A business finance coach knows what today’s lender priorities are.

Not all vendor or bank credit established is reported to the key business credit monitoring agencies. Why not apply where it will be noticed and count in the long run? I’m not only advocating the benefits of a business finance coach because of their strategic approach, but also because their knowledge can save you money. You see their daily activities can’t help but make them aware of sources for unsecured lines of credit but they also know where the best interest rates are and how to avoid certain application fees.

The bottom line though is taking time to look at the big picture, the long term. Now is the time to capitalize your firm for the opportunities that are just around the corner. You can position your business for the future by utilizing a business finance coach.

Keyword research is a vitally important part of your website’s marketing, whether you are running pay-per-click (PPC) ads, optimizing your website, or launching an off-page SEO campaign. In fact, proper keyword research should be the foundation on which you build all of your marketing and search engine optimization strategies. Identifying the right keywords for your website has a tremendous amount of power — it can be the foundational step that helps you to succeed online beyond your wildest expectations, or it can be the first step on the road to your online business’s demise.

Why keyword research is important

The greatest power that keyword research holds is in its ability to help you shape, or control, your website’s visitors. By developing your marketing strategies and SEO campaigns based on proper keyword research, you are bridging the gap between those who are looking for whatever it is that your website offers, and your website itself.

As an example, let’s say that you are a website designer, and you create custom-built websites for your customers. Many somewhat-SEO-savvy individuals automatically think that ‘web design’ would be a great keyword phrase to target in this situation. After all, it’s hugely popular — tens of thousands of other websites are targeting the keyword phrase, so the natural association, for some, is to assume that it’s a good keyphrase to optimize for.

However, there are a couple of downfalls here. First and foremost, the phrase ‘web design’ is so popular that it would be nearly impossible for the average website owner to achieve decent rankings for that keyphrase. Secondly, and arguably more important than the first point — by targeting the phrase ‘web design’, you’re not really connecting with your target audience.

By targeting a general term for your SEO and marketing campaigns, you’re going to inadvertently pick up highly untargeted visitors, that is, if you manage to grab any sort of placement for a general keyword. Using our example above, by targeting ‘web design’, you are also going to receive traffic for, “how to start a web design company”, “web design ideas”, “flash web design templates”, and so forth. In your situation, these types of visitors are not likely to be of any benefit to you.

However, when you apply a bit of keyword research to your plan, whether you use free keyword research tools, or you subscribe to a keyword research service, you can narrow your focus and pre-qualify your visitors before they land on your website.

Improve user targeting with long-tail keywords

If you’ve been toying with the idea of keyword research for any amount of time, you’ve likely come across the term, “long-tail keywords”. Long-tail keywords are simply an expanded version of a general keyphrase. For instance, a website designer looking to narrow their focus for their SEO and marketing campaigns may focus on ’small business web design’, ‘web design [and] marketing’, or ‘Chicago website design’ as their primary keywords, depending on their business.

Not only will these pseudo long-tail keyword phrases be much easier to rank for in search engines, these keyphrases will convert into paying customers phenomenally better than the general terms would. While this is very important in your SEO campaigns, this is even more important in your pay-per-click campaigns where every visitor to your website is another few dollars out of your pocket, at least with website-design related keywords.

It doesn’t matter if you’re using free keyword research tools, software, or you’re hiring somebody to perform your keyword research for you — you should always start your SEO and marketing campaigns with comprehensive keyword research. Not only will you find it easier to achieve first-page listings for long-tail keywords, you’ll be connecting with your target audience, and that’s one sure-fire way to have an extremely successful, and profitable, online business
